If you’re scrolling flight prices and itching to pack your suitcase, then we’ve got the perfect first-timer’s guide to staying at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach.
We’re covering everything you should know for staying there, along with ways to save some money on your trip!
Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach is an exquisite destination for travelers seeking a luxurious and tranquil getaway in Cabo San Lucas. If you're ready to start packing, let's explore how you can save some money to give your wallet a much-needed break when booking your vacation.

Where is Pueblo Bonito?
Pueblo Beach—has locations in both Cabo San Lucas and Mazatlán, Mexico. However, Pueblo Bonito also refers to an archaeological site in Chaco Culture National Historical Park in New Mexico.
We know you’re most likely not looking to visit any archaeological sites this year, as they are usually severely lacking in cabanas and fruity drinks.
Sunset Beach is just one of the resorts in Mexico offered by Pueblo Bonito, located in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California, Mexico. Also, Pueblo Bonito has several other excellent resorts in Cabo, including Rose' near the famous Marina, and our 3-Bedroom free-standing vacation homes, Montecristo Villas, overlooking Sunset Beach, the Pacific Ocean, with their own pool and jacuzzi.
You will most likely be flying into San Lucas Cabo Airport (SJD), as it is usually the cheapest for international flights.
Getting There
How was your flight? Now that you've grabbed your luggage and stretched your legs, let's head to your premier destination in Cabo San Lucas!
Tip: Keep your head down and head through the viper tunnel without speaking to any of the vultures trying to sell you a so-called good deal!
Here are a few options for transportation once you land at the airport and grab your luggage:
- Shared Shuttle: Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach offers a shuttle bus from the airport, which is a free option for their guests! However, this option could take longer as there might be multiple stops along the way. This should be prearranged directly through the Resort.
 - Driving: The Resort is about 29 miles (30-40 minutes) from the airport. If you're renting a car, this is a very convenient option, but it's also the most expensive, and you'll need to consider parking & valet options. However, a rental car lets you venture beyond the Resort to explore. There are a few good car rental companies, and we'd be more than happy to advise. Though remember you are in a different country, and some auto policies do not carry over from the U.S., it is advisable to purchase insurance from reputable rental car companies.
 - Ride-Share & Taxis: One of the more expensive options, there are ride-share vehicles ready at the airport to take you to the Resort. Companies like Uber, Lyft, and local taxis usually $30-$60 per ride. This is the most time-saving, and you're in control of the scheduling. Lyft is the cheapest, though, still working out the details with the Mexico Transportation Dept., and could be inconvenient due to pickup and exact drop-off locations.
 - Public Transportation: While this is your cheapest option, the Ruta del Desierto bus will take the longest, and there is no guarantee the bus will be running when you land or that it will drop you off near the Resort. However, if you are flexible and adventurous, it will save you some money.
 - Pre-Arranged: You may choose to arrange private transportation to and from the airport with your personal chauffeur and private vehicle. This is more expensive than any of the above, though it offers the most flexibility, provides drinks while traveling to the Resort, and can even swing by to pick up groceries. We have several recommendations if needed.

Insider's Tip: If you're looking for a more relaxed, even more laid-back and less-crowded option, Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay in Mazatlán, Mexico, might be the perfect choice, and we have incredible deals to experience this 5-star Resort and save some money.

FAQs
- How much does it cost to stay in Mexico?

While room rates vary, any luxury Resort will be on the more expensive side, generally compared to a standard hotel. However, to determine rates, you also need to consider the season, room type, the Resort, upgrades, and booking source. We here at VTE have most of the options you're looking for, all at OWNER RATES.

How to Save Money on Traveling
Most visit resorts in Mexico because they can be cheaper than those in other tropical destinations, but rates can fluctuate throughout the year.
While booking through online travel agencies (OTAs) and the hotel can be convenient, the rates are usually pricier, and you’re treated like just a number. Choices like Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb, Kayak, or others typically include significant fees, steeper base prices, and only include basic amenities. Also, customer service can be hit-or-miss and time-consuming.
Booking a Resort with us, as an Owner's Guest, is a game-changer for savvy travelers, unlocking discounts, receiving Owner amenities, and improving their vacation experience by cutting out the middleman. You can experience a vacation that feels luxurious and rewarding, without the financial burden that often comes with booking through traditional channels.
